Breast Cancer from Singapore

My name is Mr L from Singapore. I was referred to by a friend to seek advice & also the necessary treatment about breast cancer. Recently, my wife of 61 years of age, was diagnosed with cancer of the breast. Urgent surgery was done to remove the left side of the breast as lumps began growing very quickly in the area. It is mentioned by the doctors that it is in stage 3C. She is due to start radio/chemotherapy in 2 weeks time. I would thus like to seek your advice and maybe seek treatment from you.

Anal Tumour from Hong Kong: Chemo Helped Initially But Started To Grow Again

I am a radiographer working at Nuclear Medicine Dept in Hong Kong. I had PR bleeding around end of April 2009, staff clinic said that it was hemorrhoids. Colonoscopy done 28 August 09 confirmed anal cancer (SqCC). PET scan September 09 showed involvement of post- wall of vagina, perirectal,anorectal, Lt and Rt inguinal LN, clinical T4N3M0.

I refused chemo and radiotherapy, opt to try TCM, qigong, foot message (3 hrs each day),change diet to vegetarian, exercise and stop working. Repeat PET scan 1 October, tumour with interval growth and involving both lobes of liver. I felt so painful that I could not sleep and eat well. On 6 October I decided to received colostomy, so that I feel better if I start the chemo on 7/10.

PET scan was done on 28/6/10 before chemo. The result was deterioration of metastatic cancer. Multiple hypermetabolic bilobed liver, multiple intraabdominal/pelvic and left SCF lymph node secondaries. Hypermetabolic anal/lower rectal tumor mass.

Chemo started on 6/7/10 using Fluorouracil 1300mg and Carboplatin 420mg for 3 nights 4 days at the hospital and 6 treatment cycle every 3 weeks. I start eating a little bit of fish and meat. After the first treatment I felt no more pain and can eat well. I felt the tumor lump almost disappeared at the anus area.

After the #3 treatment another PET scan was done on 9/9/10, big improvement on the anal tumour, lymph nodes and liver region. I have finished my #6 chemo on 15/11 and shall see the doctor on 2/12. I start not eating meat again. A lump at area of anus starts growing on #5 chemo and it is getting bigger at almost size of peanut but with no pain. The doctor said that I may need a radiotherapy if the lump is still exist after #6 chemo.

I am seeking for your advice. I am planning to take a trip to China on 6/12 for 6 days on a cruise for relaxation.

Pancreatic Cancer – 84-year-old. No Chemo For Her

My mon, 84, had stomachache (assumed gastric pains) since early 2008. 17 August .2010 detected pancreatic cancel stage 3 via CT scan. 4.11.2010 detected liver cancer via CT scan. No treatment recommended by medical doctor(s) attending to her.

I wonder if Dr Teo could kindly consider treatment for my mom as she is not recommended for surgery nor any chemo treatment due to her old age 84 and frail nature with diabetes and hypertension.

I am in KL and she is in Sungei Petani. I was planning to fly to Pg, rent a car and fetch my mom to see you but she condition is not too good - she is in pain, vomiting and cannot take solid food.

I pray that you can consider meeting up with you … my own daughter is just discharged from hospital for eating disorder but under observation in KL and taking her SPM next week so I need to be running all over but as you rightly said in your home page .. I am doing something and not looking on doing nothing. After praying to God, I found your website in an internet search. I am surprised that having discussed with so many of my friends and watch Astro and surfing the web for cancer info, I have never been told or seen on TV or about your website earlier.

CA Rectum – Operation, Radio and Chemotherapy. Now Lung Cancer: Chemo Again But Failed. More Chemo But He Gave Up

Dear Prof Chris,

My name is D and I have a father, EG, who is currently 63 years old and diagnosed with a lung cancer and has undergone chemotherapy since March of this year., till two weeks ago which was the last one in Singapore . During around 7 months therapy he also suffered tuberculosis. In May which he has to stop the chemo for nearly two months. However, doctor claimed now that his TBC is already getting very well except that the chemo has not really came out with a satisfactory result which the cancer has getting slightly bigger than before the chemo was done.

My father also has a history of ca rectum; post radiotherapy (2007), chemotherapy ( from 2007 to 2008) and abdominoperitoneal resection ( December 2008) followed by chemotherapy for recurrence ( May 2010 to October 2010)

My father does not want to undergo the surgery and additional chemo as his body really cannot take in the chemo anymore. Other than that he is like a normal person who does not suffer any pain in chest or any parts of the body and looks like a normal guy.

Please kindly assist me on how to help my father. Really looking forward for the feedback soon from your side on this. I thank you very much on your help.

Lung Cancer from Hong Kong: Traceva and Alimta Failed – Declined Third Line Chemo

(1)I have been a Type II Diabetes Mellitus for over 10 years.

(2) Year end of 2009, felt like having a flu with shortness of breath.

(3) January 12, 2010, I have gone through a body check at hospital and realized that I had pleural effusion on my right lung and needed further check-up.

(4) January 14, 2010, I was at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Hong Kong, and was diagnosed as 'Right pleural biopsy show atypical cells'. The exact diagnosis is: adenocarcinoma of lung with intrapulmonary and liver metastatses, stage 4.

(5) Tarceva treatment started from February 2010 to mid-June 2010. The treatment stopped due to ineffectiveness shown.

(6) March 2010, because of pleural effusion, led to shortness of breath, Pleurodesis was performed to drain the fluid and eliminate the accumulation of fluid.

(7) After Tarceva treatment failed, a second-line treatment of chemotherapy, Alimta started in July. The dosage was deduced according to my health condition. It was less effective due to small dosage.

(8) May, 2010, suddenly felt heat beat was racing, up to 180 per minute. Rushed to emergency. Diagonsed SVT.

(9) Late July, 2010, I found pain around the hip areas.

(10) Diagnosed metastasis to left & right hip bone in late August, 2010.

(11) Chemotherapy stopped.

(12) Radiotherapy started in early September, for 7 days.

(13) Mid-September, doctor suggested third line chemotherapy as 2nd-line was found ineffective.

(14) I turned down the third line treatment as I don't want to suffer from the side-effect of chemotherapy.

I started to look for Chinese medicine treatment.

(15) I started to take Chinese medicine to strengthen my body system from mid-Sept until now. But this is not intended to cure my cancer, whereas just to strengthen my immune system and energy.

(16) Late October, I got a flu, and felt exhausted all the time, now still the same.

Chemo Did Not Help With His Pancreatic Cancer

Sometime ago I emailed you regarding my husband who was diagnosed with CA of the pancreas with liver. metastasis. He had underwent chemotherapy but stopped after finishing the 4th cycle as the CT scan showed no response. He was recommeded to take another different course of chemotherapy but there were uncertainties to the effectiveness and also the risk involved. My husband had already decided to discontinue the chemotherapy sometime ago.

Besides this, he has diabetes and high blood pressure.

Presently, his abdomen is rather large and so are his limbs. His eyes are slightly yellow and the color of his skin too. I've just started my husband on your herbs.

They Said Chemo Helped Her - You Buy That?

Good day to you. It is with a heavy heart that I write this email. I wish to seek your kind assistance on my wife on this urgent time of need.

Here are the chronology of events in summarized format:

June 2010, She underwent scoping as she had blood in her stools and had occasional cramps. Doc found a growth in her colon and she underwent a major op to have that removed. The report on this is attached

July to Jan 2010, She underwent a 12 cycle chemotherapy. She was prescribed Oxaliplatin. Her treatment ended in Jan this year.

May 2010, She had a CT scan which basically cleared her of anything. Report as attached.

Nov 2010, She felt throbbing pain at her tail bone. After a CT scan it revealled that there is a growth (7x10cm). She had a surgery to remove her ovaries and uterus. I met with the surgeon after the surgery who commented that he found extensive tumor growth in her pelvis area and her eventual survival rate is slim. Chemotherapy is definitely on the table but this should be considered as prolonging her life rather than a cure. However he did say that on a more positive note, he commented that she had obviously responded well from her Oxaliplatin chemo therapy. He felt that if we decided not to do that, she probably would not have survived till today. The chemo did arrest the aggressive cancer growth.

She is currently in HDU as her surgery was only completed yesterday, 5 p.m. She is expected to stay there for a week. I am not sure yet on whether she will be undergoing another round of chemo therapy but this will be highly likely.

She is a very warm and caring person who has touched many people's lives in her own ways. We are married for 12 years and we have two very adorable twin boys of 6 years old. I cannot possibly imagine life without her and definitely having the two boys make this a very stark possibility. I would do anything in return for her wellbeing.

It is on this note that I wish your advise/ help. Should I bring Her to your center in Penang as soon as she is well enough to travel from her surgery?

I have been undergoing a very painful experience for the past few days knowing that I may lose someone that I so dearly love and know that my two boys may not have their mother. This experience I do not wish upon anyone to go through. I would very very much be grateful if you can look at my email and provide some glimmer of light.

Dear Prof. Teo,
How do yo do. I found your site through internet searching. y name is Su. My brother is running radiotherapy (RT) on his NPC now (still half way to go of total 33 sessions).

Earlier before he underwent RT, a biopsy showed he had Carcinoma cells squamosa non-keratinnous, less differenciation, nasopharyngeal.

I don't think he will stand for chemotherapy should they upgrade his therapy after this 33's RT. I believe it's better for him to consumes TCM / Herbal Tea during his RT and for daily treatment. Do you have any suggestion according to his health issues.

Well, because of side effect of RT. It's hard for him to talk and swallow. He suffer dry mouth, headache and others side effect now.

Prostate Cancer from the US

I have a dear friend who has been diagnosed with Prostate cancer, stage 4, terminal. The cancer has metastisized into the ribs, shoulder, and back. He is 50 years old and had his first PSA resulting in a reading of 2,000. Two subsequent tests resulted in 2,300 and 2,700 respectively. Doctors said this probably was going on for 2 -3 years. He is experiencing some back pain and weight loss. He has discounted any toxic treatments.

I have heard of some success in treating cancer through a regimen of various herbs which brought me to your website. Can you please help by providing info/recommendations for treatment. We are in process of conducting fund raising activities as we realize insurance will not pay for any such treatments.

Reply: Thanks for your email. Experience tells me that it is very very difficult to help people from far away countries -- the herbs are not good to taste and awful in smell. 70% of patients cannot tolerate them ... and almost 99.9% of non-Asian will not like them at all.

Prostate Cancer: Can I Go for Holidays?

Stomach Cancer from India

This is what someone wrote about the patient’s medical history:

Feeling pain in stomach past 6 months. Gastro Doctor gave some Medicines for gas and acidity. Got little bit of relief but not cure. Endoscopy done and found that it is Linitis Plastica. Biopsy done and found to be signet ring cell carcinoma( adenocarcinoma).

CT Scan done and found: Wall thickness of body, antrum and pyloric region of stomach with heterogenous contrast enchancement. Maximum thickness is at anterior wall of antrum measuring, 25 mm. There is perigastric fat stranding with the loss of fat plane with pancreas at places. Enlarged lymph nodes, largest measuring 14 mm seen at perigastric region. No evidence of peripancreatic fluid collection. The mediastinal structures and cardia are normal. There is no evidence of mediastinal or hilar lymphadenopathy. The lung fields are clear. No pleural effusion or thickening is seen.

MPRESSION: Features are consistent with carcinoma stomach with perigastric lymphadenopathy STAGE T4N1 Mx. Doctors told us it is the stage and patient has only 1 year life. Doctors decided to give Chemotherapy (Palliative). Given first chemo on 23rd October 2010, Two more they will give. Before the chemo, feeling pain in stomach and chest. But after the chemo, feeling pain in stomach, chest and back.

Mass in the mouth: Chemotherapy and radiotherapy failed

Sometime in March 2005 he noticed a small lump on the underside of his left tongue. The lump grew bigger with time. He then started taking some Chinese herbs. After six to seven months, the lump appeared to have gone smaller in size but did not go away.

Not satisfied, he went to a private hospital. An MRI indicated a 2 x 2 x 3 cm mass in the left paracentral aspect of the floor of the mouth. A biopsy was done and the doctor told him that it was moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma.

According to the doctor, KT needs to undergo chemotherapy and radiotherapy first before surgery was to be attempted. Trusting his doctor, KT underwent seven cycles (7X) of chemotherapy and thirty sessions (30X) of radiotherapy.

Unfortunately the treatments were not effective. So KT was asked go for another four cycles of chemotherapy. Again, the treatment was not effective. However this time, his jaw swelled and turned red. Then the swelling ruptured. The doctor gave up and told KT: Go and try Chinese herbs.

TK came to seek our help. His condition is best illustrated by the accompanied photo. There are three lumps below the jaw. Notice also the “burnt marks” due to the radiation treatment. TK could not eat any solid food.

Bone Cancer from India

My brother was diagnosed with pleomorphic sarcoma in the pelvis (stage -4 ). He is 33 years. He first noticed the first pain while running in a cricket game. Neglected the pains for 2 weeks. Comment: It is indeed difficult to us to do much – there is the distance and the slow communication between us making our response rather slow. Please ponder the following:

1. What is the cause of this cancer? No one has the answer.

2. If the cause is not know, how can anyone “intelligently” cure it?

3. Ask the onocologist and he recommends chemotherapy, ask the radiologist he says radiotherapy. But all of them say the treatment will not cure.

4. Would it not be more humane to do nothing than do something?

Here are the results of my last pap smear test and cancer markers that I had in Malaysia in mid August'10. The results for my pap came back pap class I (one) which reads negative. Correct me if I'm wrong but this is a good result right? This is an improvement to the previous pap test which reads pap class II (two). From Norway: Her Leukemia Came Back Again

My name is JMS. I am originally Indonesian but I live in Norway with my family.

In May 2008 I was pregnant for 5 months and got Acute myelogenous leukemia. Mid June 2008 the pregnancy was aborted, so that chemotherapy treatments could start. I had 5 chemotherapy treatments.

By the end of November 2008 I was finished with all the chemotherapy treatments and declared free from leukemia.

I am now pregnant again, 27 weeks on the way. Last Friday (October 1, 2010) the doctor took bone marrow test and confirmed that I have got a relapse of the leukemia. They plan to wait until my pregnancy is 28 weeks (on October 11, 2010) and they will take out the baby by caesarean operation. Then they will start with 2 treatments of chemotherapy and the bone marrow transplantation.

From previous experiences I know the chemotherapy treatments are extremely hard on my body. I also heard that bone marrow transplantation is an extremely high risk operation.

I heard you have helped many people so that they are cured from cancer, without chemotherapy and transplantation. I would highly appreciate your advice if there is anything else I can do in this desperate situation? Best regards.

Lung Cancer from Singapore

My friend recommended that we approach you regarding my father-in-law.

I am emailing from Singapore. My father-in-law was told by the doctor about a month ago that he has a 4th stage tumour pressing against his right lung. Last Monday, a biopsy was done on him and the results will be out this Wednesday. We've been told that because he is 83, an operation is out of the question. The doctor has recommended radiotherapy which our family is not keen on. We are therefore exploring the possibility of having you help him manage his pain and to control the spread. He has been experiencing a dull pain in his chest for the past month and more recently, he has been losing his appetite. The doctor prescribed him morphine which he hasn't taken.

Metastatic Lung Cancer: She Refused Medical Treatment

Hi, my name is WSP, I would like to seek your advice on my mother's case. My mother is 66 years old. She is a lung cancer patient since first diagnosed in Sept 2007.

We declined any western medicine (chemo etc) as we have no confidence in the chemo. Instead, we brought her to Zhu Hai China Cancer Rehabilitation Center for 3 months of herbal treatment.

My mother is taking the Chinese herbal medicine from May 2008 till to date. Other than that, she is controlling her diet, eats light every day, talking multi-vitamins, doing 'Kok Ling' qi gong etc. There was no medical checkup during the 3 years from 2007 to 2010. Simply, my mother felt that it is stressful for her to do so.

Two months ago she has back pain and resulted in some difficulties in movements. We brought her for CT scan yesterday and I just got the report. We will be seeing the doctor on next Tuesday only.

I would like to bring my mother to see you but prior to that, I hope Dr Chris can kindly review my mother's report and inform me the best thing that I should do now. Next Tuesday, we are seeing the Oncologist. Honestly, I would like to decline any chemo treatment or radiotherapy for my mother. She is already so weak and low spirited. I am worried that the drugs that they use will further damage rather than improving!

We just hope that my mother will not suffer any pain and will further improve her quality of life.

Prostrate Recurred

Dear Dr. Teo,

It has been 4 years since we spoke to you abt my father prostate cancer. And since then (on and off) he has been taking your herb for his treatment. He is hospitalised now because his hb dropped to 5.4 due to bleeding urine. But tho the doctor had given him the medicine to stop the bleeding, he still has it. His urologist said, the bleeding is the result of the spreading cancer to the ureter , that’s why suggested us to remove the cancer. by the way his hb now is 11.4 after transfusion and his PSA is 297. Recent test showed his lung, heart and kidney are clear.

The hospital only allow him to drink 1 litre per day with the reason afraid he will more experiencing bleeding urine if he drinks a lot. I don't know if this is the reason why he can't pass motion (constipation) . But he is complaining his stomach full of gas (flatulent?). His doctor said this is because of his bladder swollen, that’s why the doctor put catheter on him.

Lung Cancer from Australia: No surgery or Radiation Indicated

Hi Chris,

I am currently in Melbourne, Australia. My wife has lung cancer (type adenocarcinoma).

1. Started with pleural effusion of the left lung 11 months ago. Remove 7 L of fluid followed by a procedure to stick the pleural space with talc.

2. Chemo not suggested as the doctor felt that it could be slow moving (surgery or radiation not indicated).

3. Cancer marker started to dropped for the next 6 months (as she took some herbal products).

4. 5 months ago, after some coughing, left lung collapsed. Cancer marker, CEA doubled to approximately 300.

6. 2 months ago, my wife developed ascities. Removed 4 L of fluid. Tests were inconclusive, i.e. no cancer cells indicated.

7. After 2nd tap last week, the abdominal fluid has not returned.

8. CT scan indicates no metastasis. Cancer has progressed in left lung and numerous nodules are seen on the right lungs. Lymph nodes somewhat enlarged.

9. My wife is currently weak and thin. Lost a lot of weight after the ascities. But appetite is now returning and she is eating well. Sleeping is not too bad, but continuous productive cough is interfering with her sleep. Phlegm is whitish and foamy. Shortness of breath.

Inoperable Pancreatic Cancer

I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in July, the tumour is localised and is inoperable (sitting on blood vessels). My oncologist at NUH has put me through ONE round of 6 weeks of Image Guided Radio Therapy with supplementary XELODA oral chemo CONCURRENTLY. This treatment finished last month. In general, I tolerated well. The cancer markers have came down throughout the 6 weeks.

My side effects are severe fatigue , weak legs ,heat wave over body ,occasional bone aches. I am modestly anaemic now , low blood pressure and liver readings are not that great. The oncologist gave me folic acid supplements.

Cancer: Oncologist Said Chemo Would Not Make Much Difference

My mom’s oncologist tells us her cancer has recurred and if she does chemo it will extend her life by another 6 months. But he does not recommend chemo until her condition becomes painful or other have other symptoms. He tells us chemo does not cure her and does not make much difference.

I found out about you from the internet. I would like to bring my mom to see you to help treat her.

We are living in Singapore and planning to go to Penang next week to see you … I saw the video on healing crisis after taking your herbs. I'm afraid if we just take your herbs and go back she might experience pain, vomit and diahorrea, my mom may think the herbs are not effective and stop. I think your presence and guidance will give us confidence to face the battle against her cancer.

I read from the website consultation hours is Fri 3-5pm and Sun 7-9pm. So we can fly to Penang on Thurs afternoon or Fri morning. Here is what I know of my mom condition and cancer: Histology report identified cancer to be mucinous adenocarcinoma of the iluem which has invaded the muscular wall and peritoneal surface. Concluded to have Pseudmyxoma peritonei and it is stage IIB.

Surgery was done to remove the cancer in March 2010. 10 cm of iluem and 7.5 cm of caecum was cut off. She refused to do Chemo immediately after surgery. Subsequently doctor ordered blood tests and PET/CT scan. CEA marker has been rising from 5.4. Yesterday the oncologist said the CEA was 12.9 and PET/CT did not show metastatsis.

My mom easily gets stomach and intestine bloatedness and discomfort when she takes cooling stuff or during cold/rainy weather. Even some vegetables make her have loose stools and diahorea. Ginger tea helps her remove the wind. Other than that she is losing weight at about 0.5 to 1 Kg every 3-4 weeks. She can eat, sleep and has no pain. She has been taking some Chinese medicine to help her but her condition is like above and CEA marker keeps rising. We do not know what the Chinese medicine contains. Please reply as soon as you can. We pray for God's help and yours too.

Lung Cancer: Chemo - Breathless, Deteriorating

Chemo and Radiotherapy: Severe Pains and Breathing Difficulty

SY 081 is a female diagnosed with a 4 x 6 cm lung tumour. The cancer had probably spread to the brain. She underwent chemotherapy with Alimta and Carboplatin followed by radiation.

On 1 September 2010, we received this fax: SY has been having severe gastric/ abdominal pains in the past few days. Currently she is undergoing radiotherapy. The gastric pains came on after six chemos. I told her husband that this could be due to the toxicities in the GI tract. Now she has breathing problems after nine radio. What can we give her for the abdominal pains?

Reply: Radiotherapy and chemotherapy damage the lining of the guts. Breathing problem – same experience by a patient from Jakarta. After two radio – he couldn’t breathe. Don’t give her any herbs. If she dies, they are going to say that it is the herbs that kill her not the chemo or radio.

Lung Cancer: Help

I got your name card from my colleague and sincerely hope that you could help us. Three months ago my mum was diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer type squamous cell as per biopsy report. Doc told us its stage 3 and above

She has undergone 10 times of radiotherapy treatment and also prescribed with either chemotherapy or the drug Iressa. However we did not proceed with these 2 treatments as we’re worried over the effects of chemo and whether it’ll be effective for my mum. As for Iressa, it beyond our means - to afford the drugs. My father who is 80 years was diagnosed with stomach cancer (stage 3). He had an operation a year ago when the entire stomach was removed. Now my father is very weak and lost his appetite.

Hello, I am MN who just talk to you yesterday. I am Malaysian and currently residing in Medan Indonesia due to work. I am now 39year old and was diagnosed to have NPC cancer earlier last year, treated last year but recurred again earlier this year after about 8 month from previous treatment.

Fatal Melanoma That Spread to the Lung and Liver

March 13th, 2009 - double vision. CT scans and MRI showed sinus mass. Biopsy showed melanoma. Further CT scans showed metastasis to lungs and liver. Underwent radiation therapy to sinus. Double vision improved. Started 1 round of chemo in May but have stopped because liver had worsened.

You spoke with my husband last week regarding his condition and my sister Connie spoke with your wife who was her former form teacher. R has stage IV melanoma with metastasis to his lungs and liver. Right now his liver is very enlarged and his liver enzymes are off the charts. He is being seen by one of the best melanoma oncologist in Chicago and has been told there is not much left they can do. His abdomen is distended and he can barely eat and drink. We were wondering if there is anything you can recommend at this point?

I just spoke with the doctor. His liver enzymes have doubled since yesterday and his kidneys are starting to shut down as well. She thinks it is now a matter of days, rather than weeks. The plan is for him to go home on hospice care and to keep him as comfortable as possible. I have a lot more to say but can't do it right now. Please just pray for him to not be in pain.

From Cervix to the Bladder

My name is CW. I'm South Sulawesi. I have spoken with you wife last night and she told me to sent you an email.

I want to ask an opinion about my mother condition. She suffers from cervix cancer. She first got her cancer in 2007 and she had chemo 6 times, brachytherapy 4 times, and then radiotherapy. After that her cancer was gone.

But in September 2008 we found out that her cancer returned. And the doctor predicted that her cancer had spread to her bladder wall so if she had to take an operation. She will have to loss her bladder also and carrying a catether for all her life. She don't want that. So she tries alternatives way. The doctor also found out that from the tumor marker, there are something in her chest.

Until now we have seriously tried 2 alternative mehtods. A sinseh from Jakarta and fruit juice therapy. The result is quite interesting. The tumor marker in her cervix, CA 125 is up 15 points from 55 (check in September 2008) to 70 (check in May 2009). But her tumor marker in her lung was down from 150 to 40. I don’t know what that means.

I heard about Dr. Chris from your patient who lives in Bogor. His wife suffered from 2 types of cancer, mesothelioma and colon cancer. Her wife had died last Friday but he keeps recommending me to go to you.

Right know my mother has been hospitalized for 3 days because of bleeding. She suffers a great bleeding. The doctor predicted that the bleeding is from her cancer. Because of her bleeding, the ureter was block by her frozen blood. And this made her hard to pee. Her infection is also very high. Last time we check it was 60.000 (check in saturday). But the doctor predicted that this morning it has go down.

Lung Cancer: Chemo, chemo – cancer spread to bone and brain

First of all I would like to introduce myself, my name is Fab, from Jakarta, Indonesia. I am sending you e-mail to consult on my dad's condition. I would like to first give you his medical history up to now as mention below.

Medical History

During a regular check up in April 2007, his chest x-ray revealed a mass in the left upper lobe of the lung, but he was completely asymptomatic. At that time, he has biopsy and was told to be negative for any malignancy. He had also subsequent follow up in August 2007 and January 2008, yet the mass lesion in the left upper lobe of the lung remain the same.

However, in June 2008 he got hospitalized due to pain in the abdomen and also back pain. On 29 June 2008, he had MRI of the spine and was told that he had compression fracture of T11 with possible spinal cord compression. Chest x-ray showed the mass in the left upper lobe was much bigger and he also had pleural effusion. He had re-biopsy and it showed ADENOCARCINOMA. He received accelerate radiation 400 cGy for 5 times to the spine for the spinal cord compression and his back pain got better after he completed the radiation on 8 July 2008.

He used to smoke 1.5 to 2 packets of cigarettes per day for over 45 years. He stopped smoking 5 years ago.

After seeing his condition is not getting too well as he also develop new pain in his pelvis which radiates to both legs and he is weak and unable to move around himself, we decided to admit him to Johns Hopkins Singapore IMC on 12 July 2008. Then he underwent decompression laminectomy on 16 July 2008 and tolerated the procedure well. He also had left sided effusion and was drained on 13 July 2008 with re expansion of the lung. Histology of the pleural effusion showed degenerative malignant cell, likely subtype is adenocarcinoma. He underwent talc pleurodesis on 27 July 2008.

He was started on chemotherapy with Avastin, Paclitaxel and Carboplatin on 14 August 2008. After 2 cycles of chemo a CT scan on 23 September 2008 showed mass in the left lung is smaller, likewise with the pleural masses and effusion with the lytic lesion in the thoracic spine, and left ilium appearing more obvious. He completed 6 cycles of Avastin, Carbo and Taxol in 27 November 2008 and repeat CT scan on 16 December 2008 showed partial responses was maintain on Avastin with last chemo on 7 January 2009.

He was again admitted in hospital on 28 January 2009 due to increasing fatigue and somnolance and imbalance on ambulation. Cranial MRI on 29 January 2009 showed multiple cerebellar and cerebral metastases and started on steroid and RT on 3 February 2009. CT Thorax and abdomen showed disease progression with new findings of ground glass opacity in the lateral segment of the middle lobe and multiple nodules in the left upper lobe suggestive of infective changes however metastases cannot be ruled out. New hypodense nodules in the left lobe of the liver, left adrenal and pancreas are suspicious of metastases. Multiple bony metastases. He was also started on ceftriaxone and prophy latic clexane. He start to feel better and able to recognize us and started to ambulate with assistance. He was also noted to be coughing while eating and was seen by a speech therapist. He underwent videoflouroscopy and showed silent aspiration. He was advise NGT feeding but the was pulling his NGT several times, therefore the doctor change it to PEG insertion on 10 February 2009.
He again felt week and withdrawn while on whole brain radiation. A repeat Cranial MRI on 9 February 2009 showed stable brain metastases with decrease in perilesional edema. Chest x-ray showed an opacity is projected over the left cardiac border with interstitial thickening and nodularity in the left and upper and middle zones. His antibiotic was changed to ceftazidime, clindamycin and azithromycin. He continues to feel week and staying mostly in bed, but we try to sit him up everyday for 2 hours each morning and afternoon and also give some excercise to make his muscle not stiff. A repeat chest x-ray showed persistent of the lung inflirtrates with the left pleural effusion and his antibiotic was change again to Tazocin.

We bring him back to Jakarta yesterday after the completed his radiation on 14 February 2009, and at this moment he is quite calm eventhough every 4 AM in the morning he starts to get cough a lot.

Consultation

With the above medical background, I would like to have your advise on his condition and whether the Typhonium Flagelliforme/Rodent Tuber that you have found can be used to treat my dad. Is there any possibilities, knowing his present condition that Typhonium Flagelliforme/Rodent Tuber can benefit him.

It is really hard for the family to see him in this current condition, therefore when I read about your story, it struck me that I need to consult with you. In a sense that your medicine is somewhat natural product not a chemical one, and I think he got enough chemical running in his body and I know that chemo will never cure cancer, it can only stabilize the cancer.

Liver Cancer: From South Sumatera - Asked to take Nexavar

My father; Mr. K.D, 59 years old, suffered liver cancer that had already spread out to the lungs. Doctor said that the cancer is in 4th stadium and has happened in 6 months. In September 2008 my father little bit felt pain on his liver. In November 2008 he always got fever in the night, local doctor in Indonesia said that he suffered malaria. After a few days, the treatment didn't work and my father moved to another doctor. This doctor said he suffered gastritis.

Every things become clear when my father went to Mount Elizabeth Hospital with Dr. on 18th January 20009. He did RFA and TACE procedure. RFA means his liver was burned with needle and TACE means his liver received local chemotherapy with catheter procedure. After a few days the fevers never come again. He must do oral therapy and take Nexavar. However the side effects of Nexavar is called hand-foot syndrome, very annoying on the daily basis. Right now he stopped Nexavar and try to look for herbal
medicine. Since 3 weeks ago he had consumed "daun kelor" parasite and "jamu".

With this, I want to consult with you about the condition of my father and also to discuss another alternative herbal treatment. Did you have any same case like my father?

Gallbladder Cancer: Gave up chemo due to severe side effects

My name is BH, with advanced gall bladder carcinoma.

Medical History

Discovered by accident when gone to see an Urologist for prostate problem on 24/2/09. Referred to Selayang Hospital, did a laparotomy on 13/3/09. Inoperable. Found hard tumour mass of gallbladder involving Segment 4 & 5 of liver, 10 cm; multilple peritoneal nodules scattered on abdominal wall and sub hepatic region; omental nodules.

Refer to HUKM for chemotherapy. Already did 4 times with Gemzar but cancer marker doubled, no reduction and then once with Gemzar and Carbo. Side effects too severe to take so decided to stop and seek herbal treatment.

Current Medications

Not on any herbs treatment.

Current Situation

Not really in pain. Used to have a dull, gnawing pain around the region of the gall bladder, front and back.

• Took Tramodol given by doctor but since can bear the pain, stop taking it.
• Can't really sleep, mind very active at night. Even with Domicum can't sleep well.
• Tired when not enough sleep. During 1st and 2nd chemo feel tired.
• Bowel movement - minimum 3 times a day, during chemo can go up to 7 times or more. No blood.
• Appetite - Good
• Slight swelling below the 3rd and 4th finger and ankle of left foot.
• Urination - due to prostate problem, very offen average once in half-an-hour. It is painful after the chemo sessions, urologist says hardening/scarring of urether due to chemo drugs. No blood.
• No coughing and no difficult in breathing.

Lung Cancer: Fluid in the lung

Recently my father was diagnosed with a stage 3 lung Cancer. After doing some research, we (my family) have decided that Chemo is NOT for him after reading the book "Cure Cancer Naturally" & multitudes of materials in the internet. We have decided to heal him holistically.

During my father hospitalization, 2 liters of fluid was drain off from his right Lung pleural, that provided much relieved for him as his breathlessness & dry coughs is causing lots of discomfort, nausea, loss of appetite & sleepless nights (he has no pain). We were then refer to the oncologist which tell us that his fluid continue to be build up again & we will need to drain soon.

As of today the fluid did builds up & now the discomfort returns, at the same time we wanted to start of the regiment of detoxification & putting him on a strict plant diet but to no avail right now due to his current condition. We will have to send him to the hospital to have his fluid drain again.

Cervical Cancer: The Doctor Gave Up On Her

The above name is my mother. In June 2007, my mom starting to have pains in her back. She had fevers, now & then. We couldn't do anything because she was away for business trip. It's starting to concern us (the families). In December 07 we decided to bring her to see a doctor. The first doctor, found a 8 cm lump in the anus. After that, we took her for PAP smear. The result: she was diagnosed with cervical cancer stage 3B.

We didn't believe in conventional cancer treatment, thus, we look for alternative treatments. 1st step, we put her on herbal medicine called SIFA for 2 months.
2nd step, she took Tian shi products for 2 weeks (cordyceps, calcium). 3rd step, we brought her to 'sin she' who apparently claimed could cure the cancer with 'chi'. The 'sin she' prescribed her Vermox.

After the 3rd treatment, her condition worsened. At first she had spotting, then later on it got heavier, she need to change her pad often. She also had difficulty passing stools & urine, her body started to swell. We immediately took her to the hospital in May 2008. The doctor took some test, and the results showed the cervix was swollen & was pressing against the kidney.

In order to help her body pass the urine, doctor inserted pipe into her bladder line (nefrostomie) . He gave her Transamin to stop the bleeding, had 15 bags (300cc/bag) of blood transfusion & had her blood cleansed few times. Later her creatinine & hb became normal.

Next, Doctor suggest 25 times radiotherapy & 3 times chemo in between (Taxotere, low dose 60 mg/chemo). We took the suggestions. On 5th of July, after all that treatments, doctor said the lump's size was still the same, it was still pressing against the kidney. We finally had to hear our worst from his mouth. Her life couldn't be saved. He gave up on her.

Her current condition: has difficulty passing urine. Her hair is falling probably cause of chemo.

Please advise us on what to do next. How do we get the herbs? How are you going to deliver it to us? We would like to believe that we still have hope.

In Jan 2009, during my annual check-up, the CT scan shows my cancer has relapsed and the tumor has grown back in its original position i.e. my upper right lung. Based on the CT & PET scans, it was found to be localised.

My oncologist recommended me to operate to remove the tumor. On 22 Jan, I was operated by the surgeon. Unfortunately they found that the tumor was stuck to a main blood artery and it is too dangerous for them to remove it. Now they recommended that I go for chemo.

To be honest with you, I don't trust them anymore. I don't believe chemo and radio can cure. Hence I am writing to you to seek your advice of using herbs instead of chemo. I will be most grateful if you could let me know whether you can help me.
Btw, I am living in KL so it is not possible for me to visit you in Penang.

Colorectal Cancer: Surgery, radiotherapy and chemo – the cancer spread to the liver and lungs

This is for my mother.

She was diagnosed with colorectal cancer 5 yrs ago. She had an operation where they removed her colon. She had chemotherapy and radiation. She went into remission for about 6 months or a year and they found tumors in the cervix (which are now gone) and in the liver and lungs. She has undergone chemotherapy for almost all 5 years.

She is currently in chemotherapy but as a consequence of the radiation, her intestines developed scar tissue and had to have two operations to remove parts of the intestines. She is very thin, weak and really yellow. The doctors say that there is no real hope. I agree that from their point of view, there isn't. However I was puzzled to hear that she was advised to eat anything she wanted.

She has very little appetite, has a lot of nausea and gas. Last week she had a fever, and her leg was swollen. I live in California but she lives in New York. I am trying desperately to do as much as I can to rebuild her immune system.
Can you help us? Thanks

My sister-in-law passed away peacefully on 5 March, last Monday. She died without having the need for painkillers, such as morphine although the cancer had spread to almost all the soft organs in her body. She even managed to smile and laugh during her last few days, something very amazing for a person in her condition. She was bedridden but after taking the therapy medication for a few days, she was able to get up and move around (with support of course) until the day that she died.

MI sent us a fax dated 4 January 2001: My sister-in-law is 54 years old and had a partial mastectomy in 1993 to remove a cancerous growth. Now the cancer had spread to parts of her liver, intestine, ovaries and uterus. She is having bloated abdomen and swelling of the right leg. The bloating of the abdomen is reduced by periodic controlled removal of fluid. No other treatment can be given.

Life and death is God’s prerogative. He determines when we should go. Therefore, let us accept that gracefully. However, it would be wonderful that while we are still alive we do not suffer unbearable pain. As MI said, it was amazing to be able to smile and laugh – then, we go.

Brain Cancer from Indonesia

I am Jes. I am very sorry for sending email to you. have heard from my colleagues about Dr Teo and we consider to do discussion with you regarding of my cousin brother. I write on behalf of my cousin brother, Gavin (14 years old), who has got 2 tumors in the brain based on doctor diagnose and MRI.

My brother has headache and has double vision and sometimes got vomiting. Doctor put out fluid flow from the brain to the stomach (on 6 Dec, 2008) and then continued radiating the brain.

18 Dec till now (has been 7 times by 31 Dec, 2008): Radiation will continue until 25-30 times and then MRI to see for the result. If there is no any improvement on the brain tumor, doctor with proceed with "operation" to remove the tumor.

Current condition: still has double vision and stomachache and still has high volume urine and need additional NaCl solution thru infuse.

Questions: Is it possible that Gavin get treatment from you. He got treatment from doctor (radiation). There is no possibility to remove Gavin from the hospital right now. Could you please advise us the best way to be done in order to get better condition of my brother. We were realise that the human body is limited but we

Cancer of cervix that spread to the stomach

First of all I would like to introduce myself. I'm Hes, from Indonesia. I realize that it is impolite for me to say you via email, and you might be very busy having to check the email, but I couldn't meet you directly at this moment, and I have no other choice, as I feel I have to get your advise urgently for my mother condition.

My mother is 50 years old. In July 2008 she got a very bad bleeding. We brought her to hospital and the doctor here said my mother got Cervical Cancer stage 2B. At that moment the doctor suggested a surgery and take out the whole cervix. After surgery, my mother had a test again and found there were still cancer cells and this should be followed by radiotherapy, 3 times.

After radiotherapy, the doctor said it's okay now. But only after 3 months (October 2008), my mother got cancer again. It grew in her stomach. Again my mother had a surgery to take out that cancer, and at that moment the doctor said he put something like "net" in her stomach, to replace an original net in her body that have to be cut during the surgery.

But again, only after 1 and half month (mid December 2008), my mother got a cancer again in her stomach and up to her ovaries. The doctor now confused because the process was too fast, as actually my mother should be still in Healing Process.

I definitely desperate to hear the doctor, and now he just gave my mother healing pain PIL and inform my mother should follow chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Now my mother is in bad condition, but she don't want to have a surgery or chemo again, as that therapy make her condition worst.

FYI, my mother CA 125 is 258, this is quite high right?

Stomach Cancer: Given Up Case from Singapore

My mum, aged 72, had been diagnosed with stomach cancer in June and was scheduled for surgery to remove the stomach on 12 Aug 2010. However, laparascopy revealed metastasis to other organs in the abdominal region: liver, intestines. As a result, the surgeon didn't proceed with the surgery. The next step recommended is chemotherapy but the success rate doesn't appear promising. Her hemoglobin levels have been dropping and she's already been given 3 bags of blood since July. Reply: No, you don't have to stay here ... come in the morning and fly home in the evening. Bring all the medical reports and scan, etc. Our centre is in town -- you can get a map in our website, click the Chinese section. It is easy to take a taxi and it is about 20 minutes from the airport … on the way to town. I don’t know what herbs she eventually needs but the herbs are dirt cheap. Kidney-Lung Cancer: No Cure They Said

Discovered blood in urine in August 2009 and did a CT scan on 11 September 2009. Discovered a 14cm tumor on my right kidney – diagnosed as primary kidney cancer. The cancer has also spread to both lungs (43 nodes of various sizes, biggest about 3cm).

My urologist said it is Stage V and possibly a few months to live. Last scan in March 2010 showed no further tumor progression (kidney tumor shrank a bit to 12.5cm and the largest two nodes on the lungs also shrunk by 1.5cm) but they found a new node about 3cm X 3cm size around T6 area.

Next scan scheduled for 26 August 2010. Seen two oncologists and four urologists and all said no cure. However, some recommended the drug Sutent and surgery.

Sutent has now increased in price to RM24K. They are now doing a first year promo, patient pay for two months and drug company pays for 10 months. Second year onwards ???? Yes, my urologist's only two patients on this drug died.

Lung and Bone Cancer from Wales, UK

I came across your website and wanted to get in touch with you.

My father, 77 yrs old, was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer last October a few months after he had hip surgery. They said they could give chemo but it wouldn't be much use … He had pain in his hand and after several misdiagnosis of arthritis, it turned out to be secondary cancer. He received radiotherapy for the hand and he reacted very badly. His hand swelled up and he was in extreme pain. This settled after a while and he was able to go back to work as a furniture maker/restorer.
When we went back for a checkup they told us it may have actually got worse in the hand!! His primary lung tumor had shrunk slightly though which was good and not the result of any treatments, just good diet and supplements.

A few months later his leg on the operation side was hurting and his left shoulder was hurting. We were told it was arthritis. Months later my dad was in worse pain than ever, finding it hard to walk or get to sleep. They told us two months ago that it was secondary cancer. He has it in his left wrist and hand, left shoulder and right femur.

We are booked in for radiotherapy tomorrow. After the last time, he is very nervous but what we agreed on is that even if it does kill everything off, good and bad cells, at least we may have a chance to rebuild form there rather than just losing the fight.

I am sending this mail to ask about some problem. One of sister in-law is diagnosed by Brest cancer grade III, IDC with ER/PR -ve ,her2 +ve along with axillary nodal involvement. Now she has already received first cycle of chemo with the regime of AC (Adraimycin + Cyclophosphomide). Doc in India told to change to new chemo from second cycle after finding above mentioned results. They are thinking to give at least 6 cycles of chemo and then after going for surgery of lumps. I would be grateful if you could suggest me what might be the best way of the treatment for her. Is it possible to bring her there for further treatment and what might be the chances of the recovery?

Can Herbs Help in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia?

I'm F. Ii want ask your help for my auntie. She is 43 years old. She had chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) since 3 years ago. She knew it from health screening at Mahkota Medical Center in Melaka. First time, her white blood cells (WBC) was 184.000/uL, her lymphocyte was 84 %. She had no symptoms.

The doctor asked her to take chemotherapy with chlorambucil (Leukeran). Then she go to Singapore and Jakarta to have second opinions. The doctors gave the same opinion. They said there's no therapy that can totally heal CLL. Chemotherapy only can diminish the side effect of high WBC and high lymphocyte. She had taken chemotherapy for this 3 years. Now her WBC is 30.000/uL and her lymphocyte is 91%. She doesn't have any symptoms. She only has anemia and sometimes feel dizziness. Do you have any treatment to heal her CLL? Can you help her?

Melanoma: Chemo and Radiotherapy – No Cure?

I wish to get some advice from you regarding my father's cancer case.

My father 69 years old, was diagnosed with melanoma in early 2010 and the tumour is found on his back (upper part). After going through 2 times surgery to remove the tumour at the back, the follow up check-up discovered that the cancer re-occur and spread to lymph node at left and right of his arm-pit.

My father is on chemotherapy now, completed 3 sessions, still pending for another 3 sessions. On top of that, my father also had gone through 15 sessions of radiotherapy at his back.

After recent review with the oncologist in-charge for my father's case, the oncologist said that the tumour at the back had shrunk and the lymph nodes at the arm-pits grew bigger. Thus, the oncologist proposed to have radiotherapy at the lymph nodes two weeks later.

Throughout the chemotherapy & radiotherapy sessions that have been carried out, my father's body became weaker and his WBC & RBC were lowered. I am worried and thinking on how to help my father to overcome his health crisis.

So through books & internet, I found that lifestyle changes, eating well, exercise, and a stress free environment are equally important aspects of healing cancer. So, I am trying to get my father to understand the importance of lifestyle changes as part of his cancer healing process.

Besides that, is there any other way, like herbs treatment or others that Dr Chris can propose to help my father's melanoma case?

My concern is that since she already had her organs removed, is it still necessary to consume the above-mentioned tea? and why?

Breast Cancer - the Waiting Game

I'm S. I live in Jakarta. I've known you in the last 2 years through the website, and since then I'm registered to receive your newsletter regularly.

During the time, I've read a lot of amazing stories about your medication. I agree with your view that modern treatment for cancer through chemo is not the best way for battling cancer.

Actually, my mother also suffers from breast cancer (left breast), but her condition has been getting better after I brought her to one 'sinseh' (Chinese traditional doctor) in Jakarta. This sinseh gave her a kind of mushroom (ling tze), and my mom can survive for the last 2 years even though she was said to have a Stage-3 cancer (sorry I'll give the details later since I don't have the medical record with me now).

Previously, my mom underwent a brain surgery to remove a brain tumour in May 2007 (acoustic neurinoma meningioma). The surgery was successful but she can't swallow and has to eat through feeding tube until now. She only eats a nutritional liquid called Peptisol everyday. Most of the time, she also drinks apple juice between meals. She's reluctant to eat other meals such as blended porridge, but sometimes she eats the red rice porridge as advised by the sinseh.

She had used tracheostomy after the brain surgery, and 6 months later the trach was removed but the hole in the neck is still open until now. We cover it with bandage and replace it twice a day.

However, the sinseh stopped giving her ling tze in the last several months because she said my mom's already cured. The lump in the breast was the waste of hormones and not dangerous, although the lump is getting bigger in the last several months.

This morning, I've heard that my mom's nipple is bleeding, but not much. Every now and then, she feels pain in the breast but not continuously. In the last X-ray of the lungs (in October 2009), the doctor didn't find any sign of cancer spread there.

Dr. Chris, that's the reason I wrote you this email. I really want to bring my mom to see you, but frankly, I think I can't afford the cost. I've spend a lot of money for her medication during this time, even I still have to payback my loans to the banks up to now, and I don't have any savings now.

Could you please advise me what's the best way of medication for her now? Do the meals also contributed to her recovery process? And doctor, could you please give me an approximation of cost for your treatment?

Very Bad TB? No, I can't help

I have a friend who was diagnosed with a multi resistant virus from the TB family recently. The virus is attacking and causing multiple holes to his lungs. The doctor said that it is a very rare disease. Only 3 Singaporeans get it in a year. And the doctor told my friend that he is at the final line of combating this disease. So far, there hasn't been any successful survivor. He has to receive 3 injections daily with other oral medications. All these drugs are weakening and causing lots of pain and aches to his entire body. The doctor is only giving him another 3 years of lifespan. He also warned my friend that he could collapse and die any moment if his immunity is too weak to fight the virus.

I desperately need to seek your advice on this. Do you think you can help him? My friend is willing to fly up to Penang to see you if needed.

When "Scientific" Medicine Failed ... They Look for Alternative Medicine

I was introduce to CA care website by a friend of mine. My father was diagnosed with stage 5 Metases Colon Cancer - Liver last year July. And he subsequent underwent a tumour removal surgery in Aug. He then took palliative chemotherapy. Early of this year around March, he finish the 12 palliative chemotherapy cycle and the oncologist prescript a stronger type of chemo on him. He was all the while in a stable condition until recently when he took up the new chemo. Maybe it was too strong for him, but the oncologist told us the tumour marker is not dropping. It was very sad that he has to frequently sent to the hospital. He was on psychiatric treatment as well as he need sleeping pill and ant idepression pills. few weeks ago, he fall and knock his head as he was in dylirium stage cause by the sleeping pills, he was admitted to the hospital.

Last week, his appetite bacame very poor and is worrying, hence, we sent him to the hospital so that he can have drips and blood transfusion.

He can hardly walk and speak now as he is really very weak. It looks like we shld give up, but I still hope miracle can happen.

I wanted to bring him to see you but due to his condition I am afraid he can't travel to Penang … After all, I read on the "healing process" for the herbs mediation, I am also afraid that my father cannot take it.

Would like to hear your advice and opinion doctor.

October 2009 Left Lobectomy (remove 1/2)

My mom while on chemo has always been healthy and as fit as a bull. Since surgery, normal signs of weakness, fatigue.

But overall, she was back to her normal activities (working and super active woman)
She refused to believe in another round of Chemo. Has Phobia of hospitals and needles.

2010 January-February family holiday to Korea and Hong Kongand all.
2010 March, gall stone caused her right side in pain. Went to Singapore and was removed early April.2 stones (1 as cherry seed size) another smaller.
May 2010 Right lung has Fluid. Refused to fly to Singapore and Fluid was removed here in Indonesia. Fluid sent to Lab and also came back not cancerous.

30 years ago she has a mastectomy as well.

My mom is now 63 years old. Her pain is lumps at surface and goes below her armpit and sometimes move near her breast.

I do not want my mom to give up hope just because she cannot meet you and I just got to you while "googling" today. Please reply to me and let me know how I am able to assist you further with this case. I am willing to put a deposit with you first as well.

No Sugar No Appetite (Variation: No Meat No Strength)

After two weeks my father eat less and less, therefore he is getting weaker and weaker. He told me that he doesn't have appetite for the food we prepared specially for him since it has to taste (according to him, but to my opinion the food tastes good).Now he asks me to borrow from a hospital a hose to eat so that his stomach is full with food without tasting it.Do you think this is a good idea? What would you suggest him to do?

It seems that he has less energy since he doesn't consume sugar at all. Can this sugar function be replaced by other thing? I read an article that cancer patients are allowed to consume palm sugar. Do you think this is right? Maybe my father will get his appetite back if he would be allowed to consume a bit from palm sugar.

Reply: Well, it sounds like difficult. He has to eat but I understand, some people like to eat tasty food. I am not too sure if it is a good idea to put a tube / food directly into his stomach. But if this is what makes him happy -- you can try if you like.

Well, it is not true that without sugar there is NO energy or taste --- in my house there is NO sugar. And I am full of energy and I have appetite. Sugar feeds cancer cells. Tell him that. After that if he thinks that he wants to take palm sugar, try it. And see if this makes him stronger or gain his appetite. May be it makes him happy and surely it will make the cancer cells happier.

Taxol, Carbo, Avastin and Zometa Did Not Help His Lung Cancer

This is a fax I received:

L met you earlier at our place. He was diagnosed with lung cancer in November 2009 with metastases to the pelvis. He decided to do chemo and take the lung and bone herbs at the same time. He started the herbs on 6 November 2009 and stated chemo on 20 November 2009. He was given Taxol, carboplatin, Zometa and Avastin.

In late March 2010, he finished his 6th chemo and was started on Tarceva for maintenance. He suffered lots of rashes as side effects.

Today his CT scan showed the tumour has grown bigger and there was more pleural effusion. The oncologist is suggested Alimta, a new drug or Taxotere. But the doctor pointed out to him that he survival change is only 20% with plenty of side effects and a few months of prolongation.

Both patient and wife ask where we can offer anything further. Would you like to offer the e-therapy in this case?

Please advise.

Reply: I remember this case. He will only go on e-therapy if he decides not to take more chemo, otherwise let his oncologist take care of him.

She is so keen to benefit from it since she is suffering from breast cancer which has mestasized to bones (on its way to the liver) as the x-ray depicts. I happened to stumble upon you on the internet while Ii researched on how to deal with side effects of radiotherapy.. My name is R from Lusaka, Zambia. My mother aged 56 is currently suffering from cervical cancer. She had a hysterectomy in July 09 and recently underwent radiotherapy for 6 weeks. Just Waiting to Die?

My name is L, I live in Batam, Indonesia. My mother (57 years old) had recently been diagnosed with Colon Cancer stadium III and have just had a surgery in Mahkota Medical Hospital in Melaka on 25 March 2010. She is now on tablet chemotherapy since intravenous chemo is too much for her to endure considering her hypertension which had caused 3 times stroke before, including the one she had post surgery, when she was still recovering in ICU. She also has a diabetic problem.

According to Oncologist, though she is on chemo, there is 75% possibility that her cancer will recurrence and spread to her liver. I presume he's basically saying my mother is just waiting to die. Therefore even though according to Oncologist it is unwise to combine Chemo with Herb, I still want to seek your help, because I have read a lot about you and I believe with God's help and my mom's high spirit to fight this illness, we will win over the battle.

I am attaching a letter from her surgeon for you to understand her condition better. Her last stroke had caused her to be very weak and unable to walk even though she can move her right leg a little bit but her legs cannot support her body. Her right arm cannot move at all. My questions are :

1. Do I need to bring her along to see you or I can go by myself with all her medical records ? Planning to go over on 14th May.
2. Please advise me further what I need to do or what I need to prepare prior our trip to Penang.

Hi... My name is H, I'm Indonesian, and I live in Jakarta. My dad has a colon cancer stadium 3 and has been removed on February at NUH Hospital in Singapore. He is currently on medication and on chemotherapy. His first chemotherapy was about 2 weeks ago. I don’t know the significance of the above until Pak Nias from Nias Island of Indonesia came today to our cancer and excitedly told me the same story. He received a message in his cell phone. Apparently owners of the Blackberry share interesting and important information among themselves and the message of the past few days is about CA Care. Multiple Myeloma: Chemo Failed

Parkinson's Disease

Oromandibular dystonia - What is that?

My friend is suffering from Oromandibular dystonia. Some call it facial dystonia. It’s a disconnection between the basal ganglia of the brain and the facial nerves, in particular the 5th cranial nerve. It has been 7 months since it happened. He went for both western and TCM treatments but the doctors all said it's incurable. He has problems speaking as he would lose total control of his facial muscles and he can't even chew and swallow his food properly. As a result, he developed ulcers in his stomach. It was a very painful sight to see him suffering like that. I really hope that you're able to help him in whatever big or small ways with your expertise. Can he come see you? Your kind advice would be appreciated!

A Tribute to a Great Man

It was 6 a.m., 20 March 2010. I was getting ready to fly to Kuala Lumpur. This is one of those days that I have to break my die-hard routine – waking up only after 9 a.m.!

80-year-old Martin with his 66-year-old student

By 8.20 am I was in KL – took a nap at Yeong’s house for a while before a former classmate picked me up at 10.30 am to go for a lunch get-together. This was a special lunch organized specially to welcome Mr Iain Martin – our former principal of the now defunct College of Agriculture Malaya at Serdang (Note: CAM was replaced by Universiti Pertanian and now University Putra Malaysia).

Those at the lunch, including 3 former lecturers - seated (L) Dr. C. Devendra, Dr.(Mrs) Thomas, Mr. Martin (red shirt) and Professor H F Chin.

Mr. G. I. Martin was the principal of the Serdang College for five years and fortunately he was there when I was there, as a student for three years (from 1962). There were nearly thirty former students at the lunch – we came to honour the Man who had made a difference in our lives. Some “students” stood up to speak about how Martin – the principal – touched their young lives. Amazing, what this man from Scotland did in Serdang some 40 plus years ago had impacted us so much. Mr. Martin earned great respect and love from his former students. He was neither a tyrant nor an arrogant man who would abuse his power. But instead, this is a man dedicated to his cause – to nurture the young minds placed under his care.

At the College, he was The Boss – and by today’s standard, the boss stays in his big, comfortable office and couldn’t care less about his students. Why must a Boss care? Is it not better to play politics and polish apples of the Upper Ups? No, Martin’s daily routine was to go around the College farms every early morning where we students “worked”. He would chit chat with us and got to know us. Some evenings students got invited to his house for dinner. A few privileged ones were invited to KL for dinner at times. I was one of those privileged one. I remember one evening while in KL, I asked him about the news in the papers – William Holden – the film star – who made a movie shot at the Federal Hotel in KL. Being a kampong boy I was curious. Mr. Martin brought me to the Federal Hotel and showed me the location where they shot the movie.

I have also been a photographer since my school days. So when I was in Serdang, I continued with this hobby. One day, Mr. Martin talked to me and said I should use the College darkroom – no one was using it. And if I needed to buy any apparatus or chemicals, the College would buy for me. Later, he sent me and a lecturer to town to buy what I needed! You believe that? Oh Mr. Martin – you could have just played Big Boss and stayed in your Big Office (like many bosses today!) – why care about us? But you did not – you touched our lives by your informal and caring attitudes. The irony is, Mr. Martin did not teach us any course at all, i.e., no formal lecture at all. The lecturers were the ones who interacted with us everyday. By right we ought to respect our lecturers more than the college principal. But, it was not the case at Serdang College with Mr. Martin as the head. His humility, dedication and caring attitudes impacted my life and many other students like me.

It was a sharp contrast from my days at University of Malaya that I attended a year later. There at UM, the lecturers acted like semi gods. No – none of them can ever come near the quality of Mr. Martin (except for an American lady lecturer, Mrs. Louisa Jensen who supervised my final year project. This is a lady whom I regarded as dearly as my own mother).

Back to my Serdang days again. It was during the final exam period of my final year. As always, I was real worried if I would pass and graduate. Mr. Martin walked to me and said: Chris, you are going to be awarded the Pure and Applied Botany prize. Let me know what you want as a prize! Here I was, worried that I would fail and my Principal came and said I was to be given a prize during the graduation!

My final comment: We were at the Principal’s house for dinner. I told Mr. Martin that I wanted to go to the University to study some more. Mr. Martin said that I would have to go back and serve the Agricultural Department because that was what I was trained for. No Sir, if I were to stop at a diploma, I could not be like you. Without a degree, I would not be able to be like Mr. Martin! I told Mr. Martin: I want to be like you! This great Man nodded in agreement. Yes, Sir – I went on to do my basic degree at UM, then to the US for my Masters and Ph.D. I became a Professor of Botany at USM until my retirement in 2000.

But 20 March 2010 was the day for Mr. Martin. I flew in to KL to honour this wonderful teacher in my life. Gratitude, admiration and respect flowed from our hearts. Mr. Martin saw and experienced all that during that lunch get-together that afternoon of 20 March.

When All Else Failed, Magic Cure Comes Easy?

Hi,
Found your website whilst browsing the net about colon cancer which has spread to the lungs. My mother had colon cancer 5 years ago. She was operated on and had since undergone 3 X 6 months sessions of Chemo. The cancer is now in her lungs and a previous operation on her lung had confirmed its source is from her initial colon cancer.
She had now decided to stop all medical treatments as previous chemo had numbed her hands and legs, making it difficult for her to walk.
We are in Singapore and she is unable to travel long distance. What treatment do you suggest for her and how much would that cost?

Cancer of the Penis Skin

Hi Dr Chris,

My dad had been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma on the penis skin last February. It was shocking news for me as a daughter. And he been asked by the urologist to remove it, but he believes it can be cured by herbs or medicine, anything apart from chemo and surgery.

He wanted to see you, is that possible? He just finished the medicine called "keladi tikus". He said it's from my uncle (he also got lung cancer). I hope I mention it right. But it finished already, he doesn't know how to get more of it.

Stage 4 Cervical Cancer

Brain Cancer from the Philippines

Dear Chris,

I am from the Philippines and I am writing you because of the case of my brother-in-law, 45 years old male who was diagnosed of glioblastoma in the brain stem in October 2009. This morning, I was searching the internet for herbal treatment for half comatose patient, when the story of Daisy came out from the search. I visited your website (CA Care) and became interested in the herbs that your company is providing. My husband and myself are believers of alternative medicine and would like to explore the possibility of using your herbs for my brother-in-law.

Right now, he is still in the hospital. He wakes up 2 to 3 times a day but still not able to talk nor he's able to respond actively. He is still being fed thru the peg and is not able to move his body, he is like paralyzed. Prior to his severe pneumonia, he's practically immobile. He is taking only about 10% oxygen from the respirator and the doctors are hopeful that he will be able to breathe by himself by next week. When he is out of respirator, we intend to have an MRI of his brain (it was actually scheduled last March 10, 3 weeks after the IMRT) but was not able to do so because he was hospitalized and was placed under respirator.

Medical history:
May 2009: symptoms: eyesight problem- experiencing severe brightness /glare on the right eye; went to see 3 opthalmologist; no conclusive findings.
Sept 2009: went to see a neuron-opta who suggested to have an MRI which was done on Oct 14. The result showed that there was a tumor in the brainstem.
Medication: Citicoline for the brain; Dexamethazone steroids (total of 10 mg a day);Vitamin C – 500 mg; Vitamin B Complex – 500 (twice a day); Nexuim – 20 mg; Ganaton – 50 mg; Flucanazole; Fluimucil.
Any pain: Not certain as patient is partly in comatose and he's not responding verbally. It is noted though through his facial expression that he is in pain or there's discomfort when he is being suctioned or turn to his side.
Sleep: He is partly in comatose. He's arousable and wakes up 2 to 3 times a day. The longest is 2 hrs. But no reaction except for the movement of the eyes, sometimes he tries to move his eyebrows and mouth.
Appetite: He is fed thru the peg every 4 hours – 300cc of Ensure.
Swelling: Yes in the larynx area because of the respirator tube although last night, tracheostomy was done on him so the tube was transferred in the hole in the throat area. Suspected swelling in the brain stem area due to the tumor.
Urination: He has retention cateter. No blood in the urine. 300 to 400 cc per urination every 4 hrs (est); But the nurse tried to take the cateter and he was able to urinate in the pampers.
Others: None so far as he cannot communicate. Prior to his recent hospitalization where he was diagnosed to have severe pneumonia and sepsis shock, he is almost 80% paralyzed. He can only move his left leg and left arm; and he has swallowing problem and slurred speech that is difficult to understand (like a stroke patient).

My reply:

Based on what you wrote, it appears that there is little that anybody can do - the nearest case that I ever handled was Prapti (a.k.a. Daisy, whom I adopted as my daughter after her recovery) in a Jakarta military hospital – who was in coma but woke up after a few days on herbs. NO, that was a miracle – not me who could do it. No, I cannot promise that could be repeated either.

I must honestly and sincerely say this – I really don't know what my herbs can do – help or not? It could even be not good for him –I really don't know.

For such a case, I usually prescribe Capsule A, Brain 1 and Brain 2 teas, which need to be boiled and then poured into the feeding tube over a period of time throughout the day.

If you see I highlighted Ensure for feeding – I would rather go for fruit and vegetable juices instead. But that is the way it is in the hospital.

If after 2 or 3 weeks there is no reaction -- then I think I would stop the herbs.

Terminal Breast Cancer Case from Hong Kong

Your name and website were given to us by a nurse we met in a clinic where she works and who is a patient of yours. We told this lady about D’s case and she kindly gave us your name.

I write on behalf of my sister, D and would appreciate if any help can be offered to her.

D was a final stage breast CA case. The cancer had spread to her lungs in October 2006 (but only discovered in March 2007). It spread to the brain in January 2009 and now spread to the liver, may be in December 2009.
During the three years from March 2007, she had taken so many treatments and radiation treatments for the brain. At present she is only on Dexamethasone table twice daily.

Medical history: The problem started in January 2001 when D was diagnosed with CA breast. An operation was done and her right breast removed, followed by 6 sessions of chemotherapy (Taxotere) and 24 sessions of radiotherapy. She was on tamoxifen for 5 years until August 2006.

From October 2006, she was put on Femara until March 2007 when the disease came back, after which she was on various courses of chemo treatments including oral, dripping – from April 2007 till August 2009.

A big brain tumour and various small sized ones were found in January 2009 and an operation was performed to remove only the big tumour and this was followed by 10 sessions of radiotherapy. No further treatment on the brain was given. D lost about 1/3 of her left eye sight.

D was also on a hormone treatment for a very short time (for about 3 weeks) and was not successful. She was then put on other chemo treatments from about April to August 2009.

Lung - Bone Cancer from India

I read the case study you have published about Angela. I seek your help.

My father, who is 75 years old, was diagnosed with lung cancer with metastasis to the pelvis in April 2009. He went through 6 cycles of chemo and 5 days of radiation. The PET scan done soon after revealed that the primary tumour had regressed moderately and the secondaries to the bone were progressive. Three months later the PET scan revealed that the bone metastasis had been progressive and the primary tumour had increased mildly. Dad is in lot of pain and is on analgesics to control the pain. Recently the pain has increased further. Our Doctor has suggested another 6 cycles of chemo and radiation to follow. They have also said that Dad does not have much time to live, maybe 6 months. This is what they had said when we began treatment as well that the average time would be 6 months to a year. He has no other problems and is in otherwise good health. But this pain really brings down his quality of life.

I was inspired by your paper. Can I seek this treatment in India? Please let me know if Dad can be helped. I would greatly appreciate a speedy reply.

Follow Doctors Instructions When in Hospital

I am son of Mr. M, your patient from Aceh, Indonesia. My father is being hospitalized right now. His condition is very weak. His blood pressure is 70-110. His stomach is hard and painful. He has difficulty sleeping because he feels painful in the stomach and his back. His appetite is low. Sometimes he feels hot and sometimes he feels cold on his body. He gets headaches, lost his weight too much, and now his weight is only 38 kilograms.

Gall bladder cancer – Help !

Dear Chris,

On 2 January 2010, my mother was diagnosed with gall bladder cancer that had metastasized to the liver. The private hospital specialist was not able to do anything for her but we sought a second opinion from the specialist from Selayang Hospital's Liver Clinic. The doctors advised my mum to go for surgery to remove the gallbladder and parts of her liver that had cancer.

Her surgery was scheduled for 3 March 2010 but we were just notified by the doctors that the cancer had spread to a large part of her liver and removal by surgery is now not possible. They are recommending chemotherapy which has never been an option considered by the family.

Many years back, a friend gave me a copy of "Cancer Yet They Live" when my late father-in-law was diagnosed with cancer. I never had the chance to put the book to good use because he passed on real fast. Nevertheless, I kept the book (hoping I never had to use it). I passed the book to my mum and she was very interested in the success stories with the rodent tuber but since she was scheduled for the surgery we never really searched for it.

Today after getting the bad news, I was determined to find an alternative treatment for my mum (aside from prayers and faith in God) and I found Cancer Care's website.

We are eager to start her fast on the herbal remedies and the necessary dietary changes. Please advise on the next step.

NPC - Chemo and He Died

Hi Chris,

A friend just passed on with nose cancer that had spread to the lungs, Stage 4.

I attended his wake last night. His brother was so angry with the doctors, saying that the (...doctors…) told them that his brother, at Stage 4 nose cancer, had a 60% chance of survival. They asked him do chemo, do radiation. Some more, for radiation needs to make a face mold for him. After 1st chemo, he was ok. After 2nd chemo, whole body became worse and he died.

Chris, my question is: Why do chemo for Stage 4 patients? I thought once it is Stage 4, doctors can't do much already – so why still ask people to do it? This will kill them faster? Am I right?

Sob... my friend was only 40 plus. Saw his young wife. So poor thing. He also took TCM herbs. It helped him to feel much better. But I think it was chemo which killed him.

That is right CHEMO can kill, but what to do ... people believe in doctors!!!!! I have one chap with NPC. He came to see me many, many years ago for a week and ran off to the doctors after that. He did 6 x chemo and 36 x radiotherapy. The cancer came back. Chemo again! This time 18 x. After that the cancer came back again and he did chemo again, for 8 x more. Again the cancer came back. The doctor said more chemo. This time something got into his head and last week came back to me again to ask for help.

See, chemo never cure ...and it can kill like your friend. But what to do? The world is such.

Take care. Take it easy. Be angry but don’t can upset. It is not good for you. Remember, that is the way it is ...at the end, I always say: I can only help certain people, but not all people. Smile and take life easy. Ho, ho, this weekend we are going to relax in Bali.

Leukemia: She is doing well after giving up chemo!

This morning, Pak Jam from Aceh came – he said this is his 6th visit to Penang (Click here for full story: http://cacare.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=243&Itemid=57). The purpose of his trip is to collect herbs for his wife.

To me, seeing Pak Jam is a wonderful, most satisfying and rewarding experience. It leaves me with awe and amazement – indeed God the Almighty is merciful. Seeing Pak Jam is to know that his wife is still alive!

My only question of concern is: How is Ibu (mother) now? Pak Jam answered: Better that before. Oh, what a great answer. As I have always said this is God’s wonderful blessing. No man can explain how and why Pak Jam’s wife is still alive today. It defies scientific thinking. Ah, who is asking for scientific proof or clinical trial? This story is must unbelievable – most improbable! Men of science call this a “fluke” or the bombastic word is “spontaneous healing”! Yes, fluke that happens at CA Care all too often! Ask yourself: would “spontaneous healing” happen if his wife were to continue staying in the hospital for chemo ... and chemo and spending RM 2,000 each day?

But do we really need that scientific proof? God’s work needs no proof. You see it! You experience it. That is if you have eyes to see. But human minds are closed –saturated and numb with super ego.

I asked Pak Jam again: Are you sure that Ibu is okay? Yes, she is. Her haemoglobin has now gone up to 12 plus – higher than the previous reading! When she went to see the doctor in the hospital, the doctor (who knew about her leukemia) would not give her any medication. He was in awe and was amazed and said he would not wish to sabotage the present healing process. What a wonderful doctor!

I asked Pak Jam how he got his wife into the aero plane. This is what he said: My wife was on the wheel chair and I had to tilt it towards me and held her head against my chest. In my heart I prayed that she just would not leave us while at the Penang airport – please God, let her die after the plane take off. How did you get her into the plane? I waited until everyone was on board – we were the last to get in. There were three seats and my wife was placed on the middle seat while her head rested on my son’s lap and both her legs on my lap. When we got to Medan, all our relatives were there to receive us.

I told Pak Jam that all our conversations were being video taped and I would like to add in more clips of our conversation. I asked if I should cover his face. Pak Jam said: No, please remove the cover on my face. I want to let the world know this. Indeed I am impressed. This is a man who is different most people who came. For most people I have to cover their faces in our video clips. And some patients don’t even want to share their success stories.

A lesson for me: The learned and the educated ask for scientific proof. They want it published in peer reviewed journal! I don’t buy such stuff any more. Experience and see for yourself what had happened. Take it or leave it. What greater proof is there than seeing a person alive and well?

I consider myself blessed and I remain grateful to the Almighty God for every miracle that happened at CA Care. And each week I shall look for miracles – big or small. You can keep your science and your proof, but for me I shall continue to praise the Unseen God for every blessing that happened.

Colon-Liver Cancer from UK

Started with diarrhorea over quite some time and then in October 2009 a feeling of pain (and small lump)on the right side of abdomen and sweating up the back when exerting.

End of December 2009 colonoscopy biopsies taken then a CT scan in early Jan 2010.

Operation to remove large malignant tumour 20 January 2010. Cancer had spread to the liver.

Offering no proposed medical treatment apart from steroids in short term and pain killers.

Thanks for your email. Steroids and painkillers would not be the answer ... but that possibly is what modern medicine can offer after surgery.

I wonder if you have read all what I have written in the website – the therapy and what it involves – your commitment, diet restriction, taking of not-pleasant-tasting herbs, etc.

Besides the herbs cost some money. Generally people writing from the US or UK are used to receiving free medical treatment and they expect CA Care to provide everything for free. Unfortunately, we don't have the resources to do that even if we would like to help everyone.

Thanks for writing. But I am indeed sorry to say that it is not possible for me to handle a 5-month-old. We use herbs and I cannot see how I can be effective.

Of course the doctor would want to chemo him after an operation - a tragic suggestion indeed. But unfortunately, I really don't know what I can do.

Ovarian Cancer: Christmas Greeting from Australia

Hi Chris and Im,

It has been a hectic few months and Christmas only four days away. My friends cannot believe how well I look and the energy I have. Last Christmas at this time I was in a wheelchair as I tired very quickly but it only took four weeks on your herbs to make me feel like my old self again.

Sad part is that they have all said that if they get cancer they could not follow the routine I do regarding diet or continue with the herbs for a long period of time.

I cannot understand this attitude as they have seen for themselves the benefits of this regime. Are people so weak and lack discipline – especially if it means their LIFE?.

Most people are creatures of habit and not prepared to change OR put in the effort to help themselves. If they had any common sense they would find out all there is to know about HOW NOT TO GET SICK or if they have a health challenge HOW BEST TO HEAL.

It is a sad reflection of one’s attitude when we expect someone else to heal us and take no active part at all. I see this time and time again, here in Australia.

Each and every one of us has the ability to create our own miracle, we need only to try and also ask for help from god or the universe, which we are all part of.

I found the story regarding Pak Jam's wife very humble and an amazing read. Faith and love have a great part to play in any healing and Pak was meant to find you as he loves his wife dearly.

Only four days to go before our family get together for our huge Christmas lunch, with a day filled with much laughter and the joy of playing games with our grandchildren. Breast Cancer: Christmas Greeting from J

This is an email I received from J who had breast cancer five years ago. Every year J send us this kind of message to update us.

Dear Dr Chris,

How are you? Please send my love to Im.

I am living joyously and healthily. Currently I am still taking C-Tea and Capsule A. By March 2010, it will be my fifth year anniversary since my cancer discovery.

In these five years, I witness my own family members battle with cancer. My grandmother was diagnosed with stomach cancer. A big chunk of her stomach was thrown out and no chemo or whatsoever treatment after operation. She is doing well at 83 years old. Her son (my uncle, 47) was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2007. He died three months later but painlessly. He took your herbs and it was towards the end of the week that he felt uncomfortable.

My aunt (52) passed away in July 2009 after three months of her stomach cancer discovery. I was told she suffered tremendously. Her family insisted on chemo although her son consulted you.

Five years have gone by and life has been good. I want to thank you for everything. I especially remember how desperate I was when I first saw you. I was full of fear and uncertainty. Whenever I meet new cancer patients, I refer them to your website as through your site they could gather lots of information and not fall into a panic mode. Breast Cancer from France

Fifty-five-year-old female from France with cancer of the breast that had spread to the bones in the pelvis (left iliac/hip/innominate and right trochanter) wrote me. This was what happened.

HISTORY OF TREATMENT
October 2004: Chemotherapy every three weeks, with FEC100. CA15.3 = 57.2

February 2005: Chemotherapy once a week, TAXOL with HERCEPTIN, for 16 weeks.
Hormone therapy: aromazine, then stopped, changed to femara and an enantone injection

June 2005: Operation to remove tumour on the breast. The tumour of 6 cm, reduced to 2 cm after chemotherapy. CA 15.3 = 16.8. Treatment with femara and enantone injections were continued.

June 2007: CA 15.3 = 32.9, exceeded the norm (below 31.3 in France). Chemotherapy again with NAVELBINE and FASLODEX injections plus daily oral intake of XELODA.

March 2008: Chemotherapy taken orally – ENDOXAN and METHOTREXATE and VYBRAMACINE

September 2008: Chemotherapy, TAXOTERE and HERCEPTIN once every three weeks for 6 sessions. CA 15.3 = 37.5

September 2009: Chemotherapy, TAXOL and HERCEPTIN every three weeks for 4 sessions. CA 15.3 = 51.5

January 2010: CA 15.3 = 65.4.Chemotherapy: TAXOL, once a week and HERCEPTIN every four weeks.

Chemotherapy stopped for one week. Chemotherapy to be resumed on 15th February 2010

SUMMARY

I am still undergoing treatment. I take anti-depressants and medicine for panic/worry. I take biphosphonates (ZOMETA) to strengthen the bones (by drip).

I sleep well. I have a good appetite. I don’t take herbs. I don’t cough. My bowels move every day (I am not constipated). When I am not taking chemotherapy, I have some minor pains in the pelvis. I am not tired. I don’t have any lumps or swelling. I am not putting on weight. I urinate normally. I am not out of breath. I have stomach pains when I am undergoing chemotherapy. I am going to have an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) on 19th February to check the state of the pelvis.
